Crypto Billionaire
Forbes' 2020 billionaire list has more than 2,000 people, but there are only a few names in the crypto world and unfortunately no one named "CZ".
Of the 2,095 billionaires listed by Forbes magazine on April 8, only 4 entrepreneurs made their fortunes from crypto, ranked in descending order of net worth as follows:
- 690th: Micree Zhan, co-founder of Bitmain, $3.2 billion.
- 886th: Chris Larsen, former CEO of Ripple, $2.6 billion.
- 1307: Jihan Wu, also co-founder of Bitmain with Micree Zhan, $1.8 billion.
- No. 2087: Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, $1 billion.
So the total net worth of these 4 billionaires is up to 8.7 billion USD.
Although it was once believed that Changpeng Zhao (CZ) owned more than a billion USD, the general manager of Binance did not appear on the list this time. Zhao ranked 3rd in the list of “The Richest People in Cryptocurrency” published by Forbes in February 2018. It is estimated that Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, the twins that founded the Gemini exchange, own $1.8 billion, but neither of them are on the list.
Meanwhile, many prominent names in the traditional financial industry have emerged, such as Bitcoin's "major enemy" Warren Buffett with a total net worth of $75.4 billion. It can be said that since the Zoom software has not become a phenomenon when people stay at home, the company's general manager Eric Yuan has also accumulated quite a bit of fortune.
